The doors for the Visitor Season are open! The coffee and tea is hot, cups are on the counter and the cookies are out. Our gift shop has new things and the rooms smell of lemon and bee wax polish; yes the Season has started. And so has my job of Official Emily Carr House Greeter. I am very well rested from my respite during the winter months but I have been preparing myself for this. The long days that I must endure, saying a warm and welcoming “Hello” to all the visitors. I don’t mind though; in fact if my humans keep me upstairs for far too long then I get yowly and insist that I be let out. I tell them “I have a job to do you know!” and if I stare at them hard and long enough they sigh and let me out. So I would like to say to you again “Why, hello there!”
